Long overdue...

So I haven't blogged much lately. I haven't actually done much of anything recently. For those who don't know, I've been battling with post partum depression since The Girl was born. And yes, depression does seriously eat into knitting time. However, with lots of support and some medication, I'm feeling much better these days, most of the time anyway. It's still not always easy, but I'm getting there, I think.

For me, one of the signs that I was starting to feel better was that the desire to pick up my knitting needles came back. Another sign was that I started carrying a book from room to room with me again. Reading and knitting are now almost daily activities again!

So, an update. I'm finished the babywearing poncho from Little Turtle Knits. It needs blocking, then I'll take photos. I still need to finish the op art blanket from Knitty for The Girl. And I've cast on some socks for me. First project I've cast on since The Girl was born in October, so that's a good sign that I'm on the road to recovery, I think.

I want to say a big thank you to everyone for their support. I don't think it's been easy for my family or friends. Those of you who deserve thanks know who you are, and I want you to know how much it meant to me. Oh, and Charlene, we finally drank the pumpkin ale last night!

sorry to hear about the ppd - been there done that... however, it sounds like you've acknowledged and dealt with it and life is returning to normal. i'm pleased to hear that knitting and reading have retaken their rightful places in your life and look forward to seeing some of your projects - both baby and mama related.

Sorry to hear that you've had a hard time. Sounds like you're making a come-back though, which is always good news. All the best to you.

Sorry to hear you've been ill, and here's me thinking you're just busy with the little one. I'm glad you're feeling a lot better, and I hope things keep going that way, it's been far too quiet without you :)

Alison - I've been absent from blogland since Fin's birth in January for the same reasons - I was struck pretty hard by PPD.
I'm happy to hear things are getting back on track for you, I'm just starting to feel myself again.
You're little one is adorable - congratulations and hugs!
