First FO of 2007

I finished my stretchy pink Cascade Fixation socks. I may wear them tomorrow. Here they are:

I worried and thought and calculated and you could even say obsessed over the gauge with this yarn. You know, in the end, I don't think it matters much. You end up knitting it slightly stretched. So if your gauge is too loose, it's okay, it'll shrink up when you're done. And if your gauge is too tight, well, that's okay too, cause it'll stretch more when you wear the sock! Very forgiving yarn. The pattern is based on this one. I say loosely because the only thing the same is that I also used the dayflower lace pattern from Barbara Walker. Repeats, gauge, needles, everything else is different.

And, just because I've been looking through old photos and getting all broody, I thought I'd share some with you.

Boy has the most intense, beautiful brown eyes (he may just be a heartbreaker someday).

Hey, you're done your socks! Nice job. I'm still working on my second anastasia sock...

Wow, the boy has not changed his looks much, has he? He's as cute now as he was then!
Socks look great, very pretty!

Moe, you certainly know the way to a mother's heart is through complimenting her child(ren)! I love his eyes too, we get lots of comments on them, mostly along the lines of "wow, blond hair and brown eyes, how unusual" (are they really? That's what I had til 15 or so, so they seem pretty normal to me!)

Nice socks! And The Boy... Well let's just say that there is no such thing as a baby boy that isn't simply lovely... I'm quite partial to them (having 2 of my own).
